Bright Spectrum Learning was established to address the current need for specialised education services, meaningful enrichment opportunities, and evidence-based strategies, to support the learning and wellbeing of neurodiverse students.

It was created by Annette Carroll, a neurodivergent clinical and primary school educator, paediatric clinician and researcher, and mother of two children travelling on two very different, but incredibly colourful, paths of the spectrum. Annette has completed a Bachelor of Medical Sciences (Macquarie University), and postgraduate degrees in International Public Health (University of Sydney), Teaching- Primary (Charles Sturt University) and Autism Studies (Griffith University). She is currently enrolled in her PhD focussing on the wellbeing of autistic children in schools (Griffith University). She holds a current Working with Vulnerable People card and is certified in teaching those with English as an additional language (TESOL). Annette has worked with international teams in Australia, England, Switzerland, China, India and Bolivia and continues to update her skills through her ongoing work at the Autism Centre of Excellence. Her special interests include Autism (learning, support and well-being), paediatric sleep and respiratory medicine, and teaching pedagogies. In her spare time, Annette enjoys writing and illustrating children's books, playing board games and spending time with her family.
